Viewing of Evidence Via Projection Technology

Despite how they are portrayed on TV shows, trials are very boring. This is especially true if you are on the jury. You are given a lot of information that you must be able to follow and process. It is often difficult to get a good picture of the situation because you are being given a lot of technical information that is presented verbally.
If you ever participated in a trial, you know there is also evidence that needs to be entered into the court proceedings. Often times these items are passed around or shown to the jurors so they can see what they are. This can be time consuming and often distracting. However, this step cannot be overlooked. All evidence of the crime must be introduced in the trial.
A better option is to view the evidence using projection technology. This way everyone can see the items at the same time as they are being discussed. There are other advantages of doing it this way. For example, if the item is very delicate it has less of a chance of being damaged. Also, items that can pose a security threat such as weapons or hazardous substances do not have to be passed around but the jurors can get a good look at them. In addition, items can be pointed out and zoomed in on as they are being talked about, thus giving them more relevance to the jurors. Items can also be enlarged and manipulated without the risk of them being damaged. This can provide some variety in the proceedings that can help the jurors keep their focus during the proceedings.
In conclusion, if you hear there are going to be cameras in the courtroom, it does not necessarily mean that the proceedings will be filmed, just the evidence. You thought this was good? Brace yourself: Orlando Sentinel – Casey Anthony trial questions? We have answers
